Birthdays!

  • Nov. 9th, 2008 at 11:31 PM
Sweeter Than
I had a lovely birthday weekend, probably the best in a long long time.

Friday, went bowling with a bunch of people. It was good to see people I hadn't seen in a while. Mom made a cake, which is also very exciting!

Saturday, my actual birthday, homemade gumbo was consumed, walking around downtown for a bit, and then dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Gumbo made everyone sleepy, but it was still a very chill day.

I got an elephant family! They are so cute! I need to find a better place for them. Means I'll be rearranging my bookshelf so they have a place to live for reals.

Now time to get back to the semester that won't stop...

In Need of Lots and Lots of Coffee

I ask you who is up at six thirty in the morning on Saturday right before finals week? Who has to take a test which is the ghastly reason for being up at such an hour? Who is going to fail the Social Studies section?

If you are thinking me then you have the right answer. One day I will sleep in and it will be glorious!

When will it be over?

It is weird that tomorrow is the last day of classes... then finals... then home for a month of nothing. I've decided to create myself a schedule or sorts to try to keep myself sane.

Tomorrow is Morgan's Christmas Party. I am excited and going over to help for a bit. Figured all this studying crap can start again on Saturday.

Cooked my own version of Chili and made baked potatoes the other day. It all turned out well, I was proud of myself.

Erin's friend, Amanda, made Erin and myself fudge. I am staring at the box convincing myself it is not a good idea to eat at midnight no matter how long I plan on staying awake.

Read two good Due South fics, and thus thought I would share. It just reminds me how much I love both Fraser and Ray K. (Clearly I am procrastinating writing about four year olds ability to identify pictures, though my overall procrastination level is low this year which is hella surprising.)

Practicum students made me a book, in which I was thanked several times for tying shoelaces. I am sad that today was my last day with these students; they have been my favorite so far.

Can anyone answer the question of why would someone want to time travel past Christmas when they celebrate Christmas?

And last, I am excited that Ash and Allison will be State-side soon.

Today was good. I played with a group of Hispanic 5-9 year olds who by the end wouldn't let me leave.

THEN, I went to the zoo... well first I went to Silver Spring, had ice cream, and then I went to the zoo. Sadly, no turtles, though, we watched a baby elephant play for a while ^^. I heart the zoo big time and am glad someone finally went with me this summer.

I'm glad this coming week is going to be a bit busier than the last. Yay, sort of, for school in a week!

HOLY MOTHER OF MERCY

Someone save me. I don't do this still, out in the middle no where, can't go anywhere or see anybody well.

Don't know if anyone cares but Milo V (Peter Petrelli) is in the new Fergie Vid... most of the time without a shirt and tattooed up.

Dancer One: You 21?? Ready to hit the clubs?
Dancer Two: I don't know, man. It's gonna be a lot of work.... I know I know, I'm a party pooper. I'm a realist what can I say?
Dancer One: ... I'm Christian. That's crazy.

Fourth Time is a Charm?

I take this moment to hate, loathe, be irritated with, etcetera, etcetera, living on campus in a dorm.

This is the third 1am fire drill we have failed due to some stupid blonde girl (ignoring that I also am blonde) not waking up to the damned noise. While I commend her sleeping abilities, I don't want to have to wait for another damned one of these things.

In other news, anyone up for the downtown library on Thursday? Or does anyone have any children's books here on campus?

EDIT: Umm, the resident mouse just ran into my foot. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet. (He is quite cute.)

So literally the moment I walked through the door, I get a call from Reenie asking if I was home yet. I ended up spending the night and finally watching Romancing the Stone and Pitch Black. Reenie laughs at my lack of having seen any real movies.

Reenie thinks it hilarious to kinda hit on me now, but then I hit on her right back, which just makes us fall into a fit of giggles. Oh man, it was like hanging with Emhen and Alyssa at four in the morning type giggling. It was great!

I am so going back to fourth grade ALL day tomorrow. I'm so excited to pack a lunch. I'm gonna be the cool kid with Oreos to trade.

In other news, looking for new random music, fic, and/or anything to multi-task with.

(I want Toots to post the pics from the drag show but she forgot her camera at school, so sadface.)

Can someone fix my computer please? My connection is doing the Alyssa thing where it won't recognize that I've updated all I can. I assume no one else's network is doing this? Anybody know what I can do?

I am no longer allowed to be around emily when I have twenty dollars in my pocket. Why you may ask.... well, no of course we didn't search high and low to rent Dark Angel and then decide that maybe just maybe we could all chip in a bit of money to buy the first season only to find out it was twenty dollars. And no of course Emily does not have a gift certificate for said amount of money. And no we don't find out that the second season is also only twenty dollars and so I of course can't break down and run across the store to pick it up and buy it.

Emily and I are such terrible people, on the plus side we now collectively own all of Dark Angel?

I'm really sorry! (brother now addicted to Invader Zim, the show).

In other news, going crazy with no internet, no real dvd player, in the cold, in the middle of nowhere, with my extended family. I've been here for a little over twenty four hours and have finished a book and a half. Isolation for the lose.
I HATE dial-up I've decided for the two seconds I'm allowed to be on to check for email... ahem, totally checking my email, Grandma, I don't know what you are talking about. Of course my email can mobile post, voice post, and create polls, doesn't yours?

So have a good Thanksgiving everyone? Eat lots... or save me, you know either, or.
